But Karla's knack for turning up in his bed at inopportune times is killing his resolve to do the right thing. With a significant age difference, he feels he should be her guardian and protector, not her lover. Retired Marine Master Sergeant Adam Montague has battled through four combat zones, but now finds himself retreating from Karla Paxton, who has declared war on his heart. NOBODY'S HERO is the continuing romantic journey of Adam and Karla, which began in MASTERS AT ARMS & NOBODY'S ANGEL. What’s important is how he overcomes and adjusts to those as he learns what they are…. I love that these characters are portrayed as average humans and not perfect fantasy beings. This story made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes as Karla and Adam struggle through issues that most of us have. As a retired Navy spouse, I really admire and respect you for the extra care you take with your writing. You show a higher level of respect for military details than any romance author I have read. Karla and Adam are definitely my favorite, especially after this ending, but it definitely makes me want to read about Damián and Savi. Masters is weaving great stories for her Masters and making me fall in love with each couple. Have you ever fallen in love with the wrong person-or the person you feel is wrong for you?

There have been times when I certainly have not followed this advice and, naturally, things went wrong between myself and others. I soaked up the advice in the book and, still, today, apply it every chance I get. This was the first book that opened up the human psyche to many people and gave us a key to understand both ourselves and those around us. The book presents Carnegie’s advice on relationships, and it is even more relevant in this age where many of us communicate more by text and social media than we do face to face. But now I find it better to reread it every year. I read it first about ten years ago, and I read it every two years since then. For years, I talked about this book in glowing terms to my friends and siblings and even read from the notes I made regularly. It remains the only book I’ve read for non-research purposes that I made detailed notes on. Understanding Gender Dysphoria is the book we need to navigate these stormy cultural waters. Yarhouse considers how to think about recent scientific findings and sexual identity language before suggesting avenues of fruitful discipleship for. And while the war rages over language, institutions and political allegiances, transgender individuals are the ones who end up being the casualties.
